BETHLEHEM — Frances Glessner Lee’s dictum was “Convict the guilty, clear the innocent, and find the truth in a nutshell,” which she did on a scale of one inch to the foot.

Wednesday, June 6, 2018 - 7:00pm
Hikers and animal lovers, mark your calendars! Writer Tom Ryan and his canine companions Samwise and Emily will visit The Rocks Estate June 6 to discuss their adventures and some of the stories from “Will’s Red Coat,” his new book.

The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. An admission fee of $10 per person will be earmarked for improvements to the events room in the main building at The Rocks. Owned by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, The Rocks serves as the Society’s North Country Conservation & Education Center.

Note: Francis Glessner Lee was a member of the Glessner family that owned The Rocks in Bethlehem, NH, which was subsequently given to the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests to conserve the 1400 acres of fields and forests.

An article from Co.Design by Katharine Schwab recently featured the pioneering forensics work of Frances Glessner Lee, a member of the family that donated The Rocks Estate to the Forest Society.

On March 16, 22 people gathered at the Forest Society's Rocks Estate in Bethlehem to learn pruning techniques for wild apple trees.

BETHLEHEM, N.H.—Brody Tuite is a relatively new volunteer at The Rocks Estate, but helping out at the Christmas tree farm, which also serves as the Forest Society’s North Country Conservation and Education Center, is something of a Tuite family tradition.

In the 1940s, Frances Glessner Lee reconstructed crimes in miniature.

Nigel Manley, director of North Country property for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, will travel to the White House in Washington DC on April 11 to be recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden on behalf of the Joining Forces Campaign.
