Join us for the 11th annual Monadnock Trails Week!  Volunteers are needed to help refurbish hiking trails on New Hampshire's most hiked mountain, Mount Monadnock.  Projects will include bog bridging, stone staircases, cleaning and/or construction of new waterbars, clearing a nature trail, and more.  No experience is necessary, but you should be willing to get dirty!  Each day runs from 9am-3pm; volunteers can join for just one day, or as many as you like.

It's still technically spring, but the summer season at Grafton Pond is already in full swing.

Are you interested in energy-efficiency and the use of renewable natural resources and energy conservation techniques in design and construction?  Do you like to engage others?  We may have a volunteer opportunity for you!  The Forest Society is looking to train some volunteer tour guides to lead tours (school and civic groups from elementary age through college/adult) of our LEED certified Conservation Center in Concord.  We will teach you about all the different energy-saving design elements of this beautiful green building, as well as how to explain each aspect to others.

This fun and interactive volunteer training will provide you with the basics of planning and executing a guided walk. Participants in the is free workshop should be willing to commit to leading (or co-leading) at least one outdoor hike or event in the subsequent 12 months.  You can do it!  It's easy, it's fun, and we promise you'll feel prepared after this workshop.  Sponsored by the Forest Society and UNH Cooperative Extension's Speaking for Wildlife Program.
