An ocean view seems fantastic on a sunny day, but as we’ve seen recently, coastal flooding can make shorefront living a dicey proposition. Ocean levels are rising, exacerbating extraordinary high tides and storm surges.

Trees have a funny way of getting ready for winter. Unlike people, who bundle up against the cold, deciduous trees sense the receding sunlight of shorter days and commence to get naked. And then they stay that way all winter long.

"We're glad to know about this place," said one hiker. 

The "River Rats" campers from the Portsmouth Gundalow Company arrived at the Forest Society's Creek Farm for a Nature Scavenger Hunt and Tide-Pooling along the shoreline at Goose Island.

The Forest Society is working with the Gundalow Company in Portsmouth again this year to host summer day camps for kids aged 9-13.

Volunteers of all age and experience levels recently helped build a new 1.5-mile walking trail near the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests’ Creek Farm Reservation off Little Harbor Road in Portsmouth.

Two-year window for finding an appropriate partner for buildings at Sagamore Creek conservation area

CONCORD, N.H. October 7, 2014--The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (Forest Society) has contracted with Jane James, broker for ReMax By the Bay, to market the lease for the two buildings and dock at Creek Farm in Portsmouth.
