The Forest Society is currently recruiting new volunteer land stewards for a number of our Forest Reservations across the state!

Volunteer Land Stewards help with stewardship and monitoring tasks, and are part of a vibrant team of volunteers who help staff complete trails and stewardship projects on Forest Society lands. New stewards must complete the one-time Land Steward Training, which will be held April 12-13, 2019 at the Barbara C. Harris Conference Center, 400 Sawmill Road, Greenfield, NH (Google Map).

This is a two-day, in-residence training where new stewards stay, eat, and learn together-and have a lot of fun while they're at it! Topics covered in the training include Forest Society organizational overview; forest management and timber harvesting; trail maintenance, boundary monitoring, survey and compass navigation, community engagement, and recreation management. Learn more about the Land Steward Program.

If you live in or near the following towns, are interested in becoming a volunteer land steward, and are able to attend the Training on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13, 2019-- please email Andy Crowley at acrowley@forestsociety.org for more information!
