Part-Time Data Processor

Job Title: Data Processor

Reports to:  Membership Director                                    

Salary: $15/hour

Position Summary:

This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with solid computer skills and an exceptionally high level of accuracy to maintain and update donor and gift records using Raiser’s Edge database software.  The Data Processor performs the majority of data entry for the department, and assists membership/development staff with the day to day tasks of the membership office. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter data including individual gifts, gift batches, address changes, and other donor information.
  • Ensure donor records and deposits are accurate.
  • Run acknowledgment letter merges and assist with in-house mailings.
  • Provide timely and courteous customer service to donors, including answering telephone and email inquiries.
  • Fulfill staff requests for donor information.
  • Assist in the preparation of lists for fundraising mailings.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of funds between the membership and accounting departments.
  • Assist with registration for the annual meeting.
  • Attend department and staff meetings.
  • File gift documentation and maintain the storage of gift records.
  • Assist at special events.
  • Perform additional tasks/responsibilities as needed.

 

Contributions/Outcomes:

Consistently accurate data entry, attention to detail, and courteous and prompt customer service by the Data Processor is essential to serving our donors well and maintaining their relationship with the Forest Society. 

 

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Must be highly organized and able to perform multiple tasks, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, positive, and courteous attitude in interactions with colleagues, donors, volunteers, and the general public.
  • The highest standard of confidentiality with donor information.
  • Experience with high volume data entry and database applications; Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications with a minimum of one year of experience.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the Forest Society’s mission.
  • High school grad or equivalent, college degree preferred.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends; extra hours when needed.
  • Environmentally sustainable office building within walking distance of wooded trails; large, attractive membership office space shared with two staff members.

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods, and concentrate in a busy office that is shared with colleagues.
