Tier 1:
Take a self-photo at the Morse Preserve sign on Avery Hill Road, OR a photo at the top of Pine Mountain by the sign naming the mountains you can see from there.
Tier 2 (Lakes Region): Take one of the pictures above and answer these questions:
What crop was historically grown in commercial quantities on the open slopes of Pine Mountain at Morse Preserve? How was this barrens habitat maintained in the past? Can you find evidence of how it is maintained by the Forest Society today?
