135 Foresters and natural resources professionals, including the Forest Society's Jack Savage, Steve Junkin, Wendy Weisiger, and Gabe Roxby recently met in Bartlett, NH at the annual Granite State Society of American Foresters meeting on Feb 10.

The morning started with updates from Forest Society President Jack Savage, among others, including State and Federal forest management agencies, NHTOA, and Project Learning Tree, to name a few. A buffet lunch included awards ceremony for NH Tree Farm, Outstanding Forester of the Year, and student scholarships. In the afternoon three presentations were given on climate adaptation work being done regionally, the recent and soon to be effective change of listing from threatened to endangered of the Northern Long-eared Bat and a deep dive into timber taxes in the granite state.

These meetings of course are also for us foresters that work alone in the woods a much-needed chance to catch up and meet face to face with friends and colleagues in the profession as it had been some time since an in person meeting was held.
