The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources will soon take public comments on House Bill 177— legislation to prohibit the siting of new landfills within 2 miles of state parks.

The Forest Society provided this testimony in support of HB 177 during the bill’s hearing before the House Environment and Agriculture Committee in February. Although the public hearing before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources has yet to be scheduled, we would encourage readers to contact the Committee to express your support for the bill.

You can register your support by emailing the committee members and asking them to vote in support of HB 177.
