NEXT STEPS ON STATE ENERGY STRATEGY
Governor Hassan signed into law SB 191 which requires the Governor’s Office of Energy and Planning to work with legislators from House and Senate energy policy committees and other state agencies to create a new state energy strategy.
Once the House speaker and the Senate president have appointed representatives from their respective chambers, an eight-member energy council established by SB 191 will begin developing the new strategy. A preliminary report is due May 1, 2014, and the final report is due Sept.1, 2014. The new law requires the council to conduct a robust public participation process in developing the new strategy.
