Find out about Sustainability and Its Role in Paper at an Earth Day Workshop at the Conservation Center

Celebrate Earth Day at the Conservation Center! Douglass Compton, senior account manager with International Paper, will discuss “Sustainability and Its Role in Paper” on Thursday, April 22 (Earth Day). The free presentation will be hosted at the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests’ Conservation Center, located at 54 Portsmouth Street in Concord, NH.

Part of International Paper’s environmental series Down to Earth, the workshop will challenge conventional assumptions about paper and electronic media. Learn about the return-on-investment of print versus electronic media and the true impact of each upon the environment. Which do you think is the more sustainable? You’ll also learn about certification labels and what they really mean, and discover how using paper leads to more trees.

“Paper is a completely renewable resource,” said John Sullivan, account executive at xpedx New England, one of the event sponsors. “In addition to providing habitat for wildlife and protecting soil and water quality, young fast-growing trees also sequester carbon from the atmosphere.

“If you really care about the environment, turn off your server tonight.”

The workshop will take place from 1 – 3 pm.  Seating is limited; for more information or to register, contact wzaremba@ramcompanies.com or call 800-860-7045.

The workshop is co-sponsored by RAM Printing, xpedx, and International Paper.
