Regional Stewardship Manager Position: North

The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests seeks a self-motivated individual for the position of Regional Stewardship Manager - North. The successful candidate will have at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field related to conservation or natural resources, 3 to 5 full years’ experience in land conservation or a natural resources field, and functional knowledge of ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite and GPS field data collection. 

This is a full-time position based at the Rocks in Bethlehem, NH.  The Regional Stewardship Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Forest Society fulfills its perpetual stewardship responsibilities for over 780 conservation easements and deed restrictions covering more than 135,000 acres.  The Regional Stewardship Manager works directly with owners of protected lands and other Forest Society staff to ensure compliance with easement terms, cultivate cooperative relationships with landowners, and resolve potential compliance issues.     

The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests is a statewide land conservation organization with 10,000 members that was founded in 1901 to protect New Hampshire’s most important landscapes and promote wise use of its renewable natural resources.  Today, the Forest Society owns 200 reservations in communities across the state, stewards more than 780 conservation easements and deed restrictions, and conducts ongoing programs in advocacy, land protection, sustainable forest management, and environmental education.
