Creek Farm Guided Nature Tour: Friday, July 19

Join Forest Society staff for a free guided tour of one of Portsmouth’s best hidden outdoor gems! Just a short drive from downtown Portsmouth, Creek Farm is a quiet year-round haven for hikers, paddlers, and nature enthusiasts. Come learn more about the unique natural and cultural heritage of this conserved land, several ‘notable’ trees, all this special place has to offer! 

We will meet in front of the Forest Society Education Center parking area at Creek Farm 400A Little Harbor Road, Portsmouth, NH. From there we will walk along the shorefront of Sagamore Creek and return back to the Education Center via a brief shortcut. For an extended hike after the tour, you can continue along the Little Harbor Loop Trail to explore the neighboring Wentworth-Coolidge State Historic Site and scenic views on City of Portsmouth conservation land.

Level of Difficulty: Easy

Cost: Free; Pre-registration is not required for this field trip.

Dogs: No leashed dogs are allowed on the tour

 

DIRECTIONS:  We will gather at the Forest Society Education Center parking area at Creek Farm (400A Little Harbor Road, Portsmouth, NH). 

From I-95: Take exit 5, Portsmouth Traffic Circle, to Route 1 By-Pass south. Take a left onto Greenleaf Avenue, then a left onto Lafayette Road, right onto South Street then right onto Route 1-A south, Sagamore Avenue. Take your first left after the cemetery onto Little Harbor Road. Creek Farm is on the right just before the Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion.  The Education Center is to the right at the end of the drive.
