Anna Berry
Director of Communications & Digital Outreach
Anna Haigh Berry (she/her) manages the communications strategy and digital outreach initiatives of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, including the Tree Mail e-newsletter, website, and social media. She also writes for Forest Notes magazine and contributes to the Forest Journal column in the Union Leader. With experience in nonprofit management, communications, and fundraising, she joined the Forest Society in early 2020. She previously served as editor of the New Hampshire Bar News; executive director of the World Affairs Council of New Hampshire, a Manchester nonprofit fostering learning, discussion and citizen involvement in world affairs; and as communications coordinator for the Cape Cod Fisherman’s Alliance in Chatham, Massachusetts, working to create solutions for a balanced ecosystem and profitable fishing communities. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and began her career in journalism. She continues to write and edit and has contributed to publications including Nonprofit Quarterly, U.S. News & World Report, the Keene Sentinel, and the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer.
Anna grew up in the woods of Alaska in a passive solar home, where she cross-country skied at 40 below, dip-netted for king salmon, and always hiked with an ear out for grizzly bears. She is now a proud Manchester resident. Anna currently volunteers as a facilitator for National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)-NH, is a founding board member of the Granite State News Collaborative, and is also treasurer of the World Affairs Council of New Hampshire.
