Early June is often a popular season for school-year-end celebrations and transitions as Elementary School students prepare for Middle School and Middle School Students prepare for high school.

One popular annual NH tradition is a hike to Mt Major in Alton as a capstone experience and wonderful memory for students who may have never been hiking with their families.

Particularly this year — after the past two academic years were disrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic curtailing the FUN out-of-school extracurricular sports, art, music, drama and cultural excursions to iconic NH destinations — it's great to see schools returning to hike Mt Major.

Says Christa McAuliffe School teacher Michael Pelletier:

It was a great day for a hike and the kids did great.
