The House Judiciary Committee voted as “Inexpedient to Legislate” (ITL) House Bill 82. The Forest Society opposed the bill over our concerns that, if enacted, the bill would have undermined the integrity of conservation easements.

The next step in the legislative process is for the full House of Representatives to vote on the Committee’s 20-0 recommendation to oppose the bill. The full House vote will occur in January although the specific date has not been scheduled yet. We will provide an alert when it has set the date.
