The Forest Society partnered with Kearsarge Regional High School students and staff this spring to construct a bog bridge on the Lincoln Trail to Mt. Kearsarge, where the trail passes through our Black Mountain Forest Reservation in Sutton.

Students worked with Forest Society staff, volunteers and contractor Lew Shelley to learn bog bridge construction, trail building and maintenance. This is the first project in the partnership, with more being planned for fall.

Check out these video clips to learn more about this project.

The Lincoln Trail and the Black Mountain Forest Reservation are located right behind Kearsarge Regional High School. This proximity prompted Forest Society staff to reach out to the high school as part of the Forest Society's educational mission.
