About the Property
The 64-acre parcel north of Dodge Hill Road has some moderate to steep terrain and a large wetlands in the central area. The 90-acre parcel has relatively flat terrain and a large wetlands along its western edge. With no marked trails or woods roads, this can be a challenging property to visit. There are a few building foundations and artifacts on the property associated with its past agricultural history, though no trails or roads to easily locate them. A small stream runs the length of the property and supports the wetland areas year-round. Visitors to this property should be comfortable traveling in the woods, without the benefit of trails or markings.
The Forest Society primarily manages this property for sustainable forestry, productive wildlife habitat, and other conservation benefits in support of the greater Henniker community. While all of our reservations are open to the public, this property may be difficult to access due to a lack of developed recreation features and resources such as signage, parking, established trails, and a detailed Forest Reservation Guide map.
Please see our Visitor Use Guidelines page for a complete list of rules and regulations for Forest Society reservations.
