124 people attended the annual Tree Farm Field Day hosted by Langwood Tree Farm in Cornish, N.H. This extraordinary property is owned by Colleen O’Neil and managed by Meadowsend Timberlands LTD based in New London, N.H.
Attendees had an opportunity to tour the property to see the management practices being used to promote healthy forest and wildlife habitat. They were also treated to a horse logging demonstration and saw a portable sawmill convert red oak into fine lumber.
Among the 124 attendees were 5 members of the N.H. General Court, both Senators and State Representatives.
The N.H Tree Farm Program is co-sponsored by the Society for the Protection of NH Forests, NH Division of Forest and Lands, the Granite State chapter of the Society of American Foresters, UNH Cooperative Extension, and the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association.
