BOARD MEMBER

George Epstein is Chairman and co-founder in 1981 of The Echo Group, a 70-person healthcare software firm in Conway, N.H.  Echo is a nationwide leader in electronic medical record systems for behavioral health organizations. He obtained his Bachelor's degree with honors from Dartmouth College, his MBA from the University of Maine, and completed additional graduate coursework in counseling and computer science.

Before joining Echo full-time, Mr. Epstein gained five years of experience in behavioral healthcare as Deputy Director of Northern New Hampshire Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, and prior to that, taught mathematics and coached basketball at Kennett HS in Conway, NH. 

Mr. Epstein served for 12 years on the University of N.H. Board of Trustees under governors Shaheen, Benson, Lynch and Hassan. He spent 4 years as chair of the Financial Affairs committee, and 3 years as vice-chair of the board. He has served as Madison’s Town and School District Moderator for more than 30 years.  Other boards have included The Memorial Hospital in North Conway (which he chaired), Northern Community Investment Corporation, Mount Washington Valley Economic Council, The Millen Foundation and three start-up software corporate boards.  Mr. Epstein has received honors including: Entrepreneur of the Year by the NH Hi-Tech Council and The Bob Morrell Award from the Mt. Washington Valley Economic Council.
