David McHale, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Eversource, said the company understands the concern people have about the impact of the Northern Pass project. He said the conservation program shows that Eversource is willing to pay for environmental projects to run in conjunction with Northern Pass.
But Jack Savage of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests said Eversource is only trying to find ways to “throw money at the state in order to favor the project.”
