Ticks have been around for millennia and are very difficult to kill.  Join Dr. Scott Williams, Chief Scientist and Head of the Department of Environmental Science and Forestry at The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station as he discusses differing strategies for the systemic treatment of pivotal reservoir hosts such as small rodents and white-tailed deer as well as research on fall spraying for ticks.

From the forging earliest known local trade routes, to early American industry, to international conflicts, there are some unbelievable and totally true stories right in our own backyards. Come shake off winter blues with a refreshing hike full of great stories for the whole family! 

Identifying and interpreting wildlife tracks can greatly expand your understanding of what species are using your land, and how wildlife respond to your habitat management activities. Join Wildlife Conservation State Specialist Haley Andreozzi and Community Conservation State Specialist Emma Tutein from UNH Cooperative Extension as they guide you through fields, forests, and wetlands in search of winter wildlife tracks and signs.

Join Carl Martland as he shares his love of dragonflies with us. Go to a pond or a stream any sunny day in the summer and you will see dragonflies and damselflies.  Most will be colorful, and some will have astounding patterns or splashes of color on their bodies or their wings.

125 years of Protecting NH Landscapes and Landmarks

This is the story of the NH Landscape and Legacy. How has NH been shaped by the forethought and generosity of the people leading forest conservation and land protection success over the past century and a quarter – since 1901. Join us to consider how conservation of forests, wildlife habitats and recreation trails for future generations is core to identity of NH communities and economy.

Beethoven’s Piano Trio in Bb, Op. 97, “The Archduke”, features a four-movement symphonic design, a lyrical and spacious style, and a profound and emotionally resonant third movement, which many consider the heart of the entire work.​ Rounding out the program is a charming trio by Franz Joscph Haydn, who’s own brilliance and accomplishments made Beethoven’s innovations possible, and a wonderfully kaleidoscopic trio, for flute, horn and piano, by Eric Ewazen, a beneficiary of both earlier composers, which is full of dramatic flourishes, gentle, expressive melodies and energetic, dance-like rhythmic interplay.

New England is a special place – the fingerprints of both history and pre-history are impressed on the landscape. Join us for a thoughtful exploration of Creek Farm, where we learn to recognize how natural and human history intermingle at every turn.
