Matt Leahy and Will Abbott traveled to Washington, DC last week to join dozens of other land trusts from around the nation in three days of outreach to elected Senators and Representatives.
The Land Trust Alliance is a national organization of more than 1600 land trusts from all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The Policy staff at LTA organized the three day outreach effort, which included briefings with key leaders on Capitol Hill and federal agencies with land conservation programs. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA), the US Department of Interior and the Department of Defense are the largest investors in public land conservation among all federal agencies.
