The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (Forest Society) has named Kristine Arey as its new program director at Forest Society North at The Rocks in Bethlehem. In this role, Arey will develop and implement educational, outreach, and recreational programs and events to be hosted at The Rocks in the newly renovated Carriage Barn, the outdoor amphitheater, and across the 1,400 acres of conservation land.

Arey, a resident of Littleton, will collaborate with staff across the organization to further develop the visitor experience at Forest Society North and invigorate a well-established volunteer program.

Forest Society North at The Rocks serves as the Forest Society’s North Country hub for community engagement through recreation, educational programming, and tourism centered around this scenic working tree farm and historic estate. Since 1989, The Rocks Christmas Tree Farm has grown to be a popular destination and for many families is part of the annual holiday tradition of cutting a Christmas tree.

“I am excited for my new role as the program director at The Rocks,” said Arey. “My career has been about bringing people together with engaging programming, creating new opportunities for members, and working with employees and volunteers to deliver an exceptional experience. I look forward to getting to know our volunteers and welcoming all to Forest Society North at The Rocks.”

Jack Savage, president of the Forest Society, added, “We are fortunate that Kristine has joined our growing team based at Forest Society North at The Rocks. Her breadth of experience with the Girls Scouts of the Green and White Mountains will give her a running start and we look forward to her creativity, outreach, and support of our mission.”

Prior to joining the Forest Society, Aery was the director of girl experience for the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains. She also served as the manager of communications and events, operations manager, and manager of customer care and retail for the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains. Arey received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Service Management from East Stroudsbury University. She resides in Littleton with her husband, Rob Arey, and their daughter, Clara. In her spare time, Arey loves to spend time with her family, travel, and spend time outdoors hiking or kayaking.
