On October 23, NH Congressman Chris Pappas signed on as a co-sponsor of the bipartisan Forest Conservation Easement Program Act of 2023 (H.R. 3424). The legislation will help to prevent the conversion of forests into non-forest areas by providing funding to purchase development rights —which will be codified as voluntary conservation easements — from willing private landowners.
