The Forest Society testified in support of House Bill 1005, legislation that would establish the New Hampshire low-grade timber and wood emerging market commission.

The bill aims to address how the contraction of low-grade wood markets has placed stresses on the forest products sector and the private landowners who hold over 70% of the forested areas in New Hampshire.

We would encourage readers to contact the Committee on Resources, Recreation and Development in support of HB 1005.

For further reading on the state of New Hampshire’s forests read the 2020 NH Forest Action Plan.
