Maria Finnegan oversees individual fundraising for the Forest Society’s numerous land campaigns and special projects. She is responsible for actively cultivating new and existing relationships with individual donors. A native of Milford, New Hampshire, Maria spent her childhood in the forests of the Monadnock region and the creeks of Upstate New York near her family camp. A move to the DC area as a young adult fueled interest in both journalism and politics, and Maria went on to attend the Newhouse School at Syracuse University to pursue a career in communications. She worked at NPR, NBC, ABC Sports, and ESPN, and then for the Democratic National Committee before returning to New England and holding fundraising positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Law School in Cambridge. She is thrilled to be back home in New Hampshire using her skills to help preserve and conserve the natural beauty of the Granite State. Maria enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, and anything that gets her outside. When not out exploring New Hampshire’s backroads, she resides in Nashua with her husband and two cats.
