The iconic call of the loon is one you’ll hear on ponds and lakes throughout the state. We’re checked in with John Cooley, Senior Biologist with the Loon Preservation Committee to learn a bit about the bird and the state of its welfare.

Dec. 15, 2014 – Cecily Clark of Ossipee has donated a 250-acre property off Beach Pond Road in Wolfeboro to the Society for the Protection of N.H. Forests (Forest Society), to be conserved and managed as the Moody Mountain Reservation.

Dec. 11, 2014 – A 150-acre bastion of excellent wildlife habitat and scenic woodlands in Middleton is much closer to being conserved now that the state's Land and Community Heritage Investment Program (LCHIP) has granted $112,500 to the effort to protect it from development.
