Moose Mountains Reservation Snowshoe Hike

Join the Forest Society's Moose Mountains Reservation Land Stewards Jason & Scott on our Annual Snow Shoe hike! We made it a week later this year in hopes we get a little more snow by then! On this years hike we will hit all the main points of MMR, so while there is nothing overly strenuous or difficult for experienced winter hikers, it will still be an all day hike.

We will meet at 10:00am at the Moose Mountains parking lot at the end of New Portsmouth Road in Middleton, NH. After we all arrive, get geared-up and acquainted we will begin our hike approximately 10:15am. We will begin on the Burrows Farm trail and then take North trail up to the Beauty Ledge trail. We will make the some-what steep hike up to the 180* view where we will take our first snack break.

We then will bush-whack on a pre-determined, pre-packed route across the ridge and down a skid road down to the upper portion of Burrows Farm trail. Here we will hike up to the Burrows Farm site where there is a field, 1800's cemetery and a view up to the ridge we descended on. Another good time for a snack break.

We then will make the gradual climb up the new Phoebes Nable Loop trail to the summit of the mountain. Here we can have lunch and enjoy another 180* view!

Finally we will descend the Phoebes Nable Mt. trail that follows some-what steep skid roads back down to the parking lot.
