Land Steward Program 25th Anniversary Celebration
This year is the 25th anniversary of the Forest Society’s Land Steward Program. The program has grown to the point that 100% of our forest reservations are monitored by land stewards every year, and it has been a tremendously successful model for many other land trusts and conservation agencies across the country. To celebrate, we’re inviting everyone who has been involved in the program over the past 25 years to join us for a Summer BBQ celebration at the Wilkins-Campbell Forest in Deering on the afternoon of August 2nd, 2018. Whether you are a former land steward, current steward, past coordinator of the program or staff member who worked with land stewards, please come!
Bring your kayak or canoe to explore Deering Reservoir before dinner, or spend some time swimming or playing lawn games in the afternoon if you like. BBQ dinner will be at 6pm, followed by a fire pit and smores. Forest Society staff will also be on hand to collect stories and capture video about the land steward program in honor of the 25th anniversary. Come share your favorite memories and stay a while to mingle with former and current land stewards! Family members welcome. Please RSVP so that we can be sure to have enough food for everyone! What: Land Steward Program 25th Anniversary Summer BBQ
Where: Wilkins Campbell Forest, Wolf Hill Road, Deering, NH (will send directions to those who need them).
When: Thursday August 2nd, 2018. 3pm-8pm, (dinner at 6pm, swimming/paddling/lawn games before and campfire after, come for whatever you like!)
What to bring: Camp Chair, kayak/canoe (optional), swimsuit/towel (optional), instruments for campfire jamming (optional). Dinner will be burgers/dogs, veggie burgers too! If you have dietary preferences we can accomodate, just let us know, and you're welcome to bring something from home to grill if that is easiest.
