Antrim Wind Returns

A proposed wind farm in the Monadnock Region is resubmitting its application to the state. Almost two years ago regulators rejected the project. Portsmouth-based developer Aeolian Renewables wants to build nine wind turbines on a ridge in the town of Antrim that would generate slightly less than 30 megawatts.

NH's Electricity Woes Cause PSNH to Negotiate

State Sen. Jeb Bradley and PSNH joined forces on Dec. 26 and filed a petition with the Public Utilities Commission, asking regulators to suspend two regulatory proceedings regarding the future of PSNH power plants and the cost of air quality controls (the so-called scrubber) at the Merrimack Station coal-fired plant in Bow.

Pipeline Eminent Domain Focus of Statehouse Bills

The power of natural gas pipeline developers to take private property using eminent domain will come under the scrutiny of state lawmakers this legislative session. Federal law dictates that any interstate gas pipeline which has won approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC) is granted the power to take land it needs for the project, so long as it pays fair market price.
