"New Hampshire Everlasting" – Statewide GIS analysis and statistical background for the initial scope of New Hampshire Everlasting and subsequent framing of the five major goals: conserving community lands, working forests, habitat, drinking water, and productive agricultural lands. (2001-ongoing)
Strategic conservation plan for southeast New Hampshire – A regional GIS mapping and analysis project to identify and rank those lands with the highest conservation values for potential Forest Society reservations, using natural resource data keyed to New Hampshire Everlasting goals. A secondary benefit of the study is to increase the capacity of communities and local land trusts in the region through strategic, partnered projects and technology transfer. (2002-ongoing)
GIS service providers profile – In partnership with the New Hampshire GIS Conservation Collaborative, a survey of GIS service providers to obtain profile data for an Internet-based, statewide directory of consulting services available to communities and local land trusts in support of conservation planning. (2003-ongoing)
"White Mountain National Forest Plan" revision – GIS modeling of forest stands and ecological land units on the WMNF to identify most verses least productive stands to help balance proposed roadless and wilderness area expansions. (2003-2004)
Quabbin to Cardigan strategic conservation plan (Q2C) – The Quabbin to Cardigan Conservation Collaborative is a multi-year private/public effort to establish a contiguous conservation corridor from the southern White Mountains in New Hampshire to the Quabbin Reservation in Massachusetts. The Forest Society's research team is working with partner organizations in the use of GIS data to target critical land protection areas. (2003-2004)
